Make Your Own Holdie Mermaid Sea Scape
It’s no secret (or surprise) that the majority of us seem to either be in isolation or distance learning…again! With all of this extra time at home, we thought now would be the perfect time to escape with your littles into a world of creativity and fun by creating your own mermaid seascape for their Mermaid Holdies!
This activity is brilliant for little ones, probably 5 and above, who can manage a lengthier and more intricate craft. We did this activity over the course of a few sessions, doing a bit at a time and coming back to it again and again before finishing our masterpiece. It’s a really lovely one to complete and see our littles display proudly in their bedrooms.
Besides being a brilliant craft for flexing motor skills, creative and critical thinking, the finished product lets your child have a brand new imaginative world to step into and play with each day. This is where the fun really soars, as they get to make believe with their new sea scape every single day….and trust us, the sky really is the limit!
For this activity you will need:
- 9-10 squares of felt in various colours (use photo above as your guide)
- Paper for tracing
- Scissors
- An empty box (an old shoe box works quite well)
- Pencils
- The tracing template (which can be downloaded below)
- A hot glue gun and/or thread and sewing machine
- Your Mermaid Holdies!!
